Happened last year (and deserves to be revived) — J’adore Dior…
— Charlize Theron meets old stars in new J’adore Dior ad —
“To celebrate the latest incarnation of J’adore fragrance, Dior Beauty last night officially released a new commercial starring Charlize Theron mingling with three long-gone movie icons. Music: Heavy Cross by The Gossip.
Shot at Château of Versailles over four days, the 90-second commercial, directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud (The Name of the Rose) brings Grace Kelly, Marlene Dietrich and Marilyn Monroe back to life. Charlize runs up the stairs to greet them, all against the backdrop of a couture show in the Galerie des Glaces (Hall of Mirrors). These famous “adorers” of Dior are all dressed by Dior.
In addition to Charlize’s team, there were 12 makeup artists, 12 hair stylists, 220 extras, 40 actors and a technical team of 100 people on set. Theron has been the face of J’adore since 2004. Her first campaign featured the actress wrapped in golden sheets.”

Special extra #2: L’Envol, from the new international Air France advertising campaign…
(Simply perfect! A masterpiece! Pure sensibility!)
Choreographed by Angelin Preljocaj and starring the dancers Benjamin Millepied and Virginie Caussin, the commercial was shot in the Moroccan desert, on a 400 square meter mirror floor, in a single sequence plan and with no special effects.
This poetic metaphor of flight is accompanied by the Adagio from Mozart’s piano concerto Nº 23 (K488).
BETC Agency entrusted InFiné records with its musical production. We had the privilege to get a dream cast together: piano soloist Vanessa Wagner, conductor François-Xavier Roth directing his Orchestra Les Siecles and sound engineer Joachim Olaya.
Vanessa Wagner is a famous french pianist who appears as a soloist with the Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Royal de Wallonie, philarmonic orchestras of Munich, Osaka, Liège or Budapest. Her recordings of Rameau, Mozart, Haydn, Schumman, Brahms, Rachmaninov, Debussy or Berio are all references.
François-Xavier Roth is one of the most charismatic and enterprising conductors of his generation. He is the designate Principal Conductor of the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg (from 2011-12) and holds the position of Associate Guest Conductor of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. He also has special relationships with and regularly conducts the London Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Intercontemporain and l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.
The first effective post of my blog could hardly be more relevant to its title “Réflexions dans le Petit Trianon” and to the more than special and beautiful figure of Marie-Antoinette Josèphe Jeanne de Habsbourg-Lorraine.
After looking at these wonderful übermodel Gisele Bündchen’s images above, one can ask: which fashion magazine was it published? Surprisingly, the answer is “none”!
These amazing photoshoots were done during the production of a Brazilian pay HD-TV provider advertising video. I guess that is impossible do not agree that the figurines and scenario design as well the props are impeccably beautiful… The video’s final result itself is funny, intelligent, well conceived and with great typical historical background. Moreover, the actor who acts with Gisele in the role of Louis XVI did a great job too!
The advertise video dialogues are in Brazilian Portuguese. Even for the non-speakers of that beautiful idiom, I recommend to watch the video. Remembering, Gisele was born in Southern Brazil, so here is a opportunity to hear her speaking on her native language.
I must warn you that I have no relationship whatsoever or commercial interests with the company that commisioned the advertise. I even know their products... The video placed below is just for leisure purposes. Thank you!
"The ability of true appreciation and comprehension of a depicted image is a human universal artistical attribute that goes beyond any written language.
Photography is the art of translating life through human eyes and souls." (F.M.)
